Information about workshop
This workshop is set up to provide information about some of the main funding sources that are available to infectious disease researchers. It is heavily subsidised, being free for current students, and just £30.09 for all other delegates.
Confirmed speakers include -
- Representatives from the MRC, Wellcome, NIHR, European Commission and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
We want this to be an exciting and stimulating event for those involved in research of all disciplines and at all levels of seniority, with plenty of discussion, networking and collaboration going on. With this in mind, there will also be -
- interesting talks from both senior and junior researchers that have received monies from one of the above funders. They will outline current or recently completed work on a range of different diseases and disciplines.
- poster session for viewing during lunchtime and the other breaks
- several stands from the main research charities, plus also relevant professional bodies & societies and Industry
- post event webpage with the presentations from the day, a distribution list of attendees emails, resources from contributors and sponsors etc
So, we're anticipating a vibrant day with infectious disease researchers from academia, the NHS, charities and Industry attending, covering all specialties from laboratory science to epidemiologists. Do come and join us!

PLEASE NOTE - If you withdraw with less than a week's notice (i.e. after Friday 2 December), then we will charge you the full amount of £30.09, regardless of whether you were due to pay the fee or had free entry. So if you find, you cannot attend, please inform us as soon as possible. Your place is transferrable to a colleague, if you prefer.
